In October 2019 we were all introduced to Eric Zulu when he released his debut hit single “Just Be Ready”, which has since raked in over 100 000 views on YouTube and over 45 000 streams on Spotify. The young trap star who hails from Durban, but now based in Stuttgart, Germany, has proven to the world that one’s destiny really is in his hands.

Reluctant to talk about his very dark and troublesome past, Eric Zulu does admit that growing up with no parents and having experienced the passing of 2 of his older brothers, he became more motivated than ever before to pave a way for his people who are still in the conditions he too was once in. In a recent interview, he stated “I remember going a whole week with no food, sleeping on the streets with nowhere to go. Just me, my brother and my sister, everyone died man.”

The motivation has definitely been clear to see as Eric Zulu has been releasing Music non-stop, with Music Videos of the highest quality shot and Edited by Czech Videographer and Director Aristotelis Vlachopoulos. His second EP “No Sleep”, realesed in May 2022, featuring Chief Middlez from Chicago, Jahan Nostra from New York, Loki and Musiholiq from South Africa and Trxpboiink also from South Africa has had a serious impact on his career and stretched his International reach even wider than ever before.

“I have homies in the UK, In the states and South Africa too so I’m really grateful to have grown up under so many different environments because it allows me to be able to connect with a variety of people through my music.” Some have dubbed Zulu the “Hook King” as his hooks always seem to be out of a bag of treasure that never runs dry. They are always so rich and musical, one can’t help but just fall deep into the vibrant energy he oozes out. Despite the ever so rapidly rising fame and influence, Eric stays the most humble and genuine person many people have ever met. Even school kids stated their disbelief at how humble he was, at a Meet and Greet he had in october at Anne-Frank Gemeinschafstschule in Germany.

2023 is his year, no one can stop him. His drive and determination is unmatched and that is why Eric Zulu is slowly but surely becoming a house hold name everyone should celebrate. In another recent Interview with Bogart Radio while on tour to South Africa, Eric Zulu was asked about his future plans, he responded

” I just plan to keep on going. Life’s to short to hold back. But I don’t wanna pressure myself and set deadlines. I’m very happy with the pace it’s all been going.”

Eric is currently under his own Independent Label, Moonjuice Entertainment, which he started with his manager Derya Kamber, it is expected to be officially launched in 2023.
