After AKA brought back his rivalry with Xhosa rapper iFani, through his stunning verse on the recently released single, Right Now – Reloaded, iFani has come out to get assurance from God if he was really “dead”.

“Dear God, Am I, nyhani? Am I really dead,” wrote iFani without saying much whether he was answering AKA or not, but fans are demanding that he redeems himself by releasing new music to gain back his popularity in the music game.

Thanks to AKA after a very long time we saw iFani’s name topping the trends list on social media. After the release of Gemini Major’s Right Now – Reloaded, featuring Nasty C, AKA, Emtee, Tellaman and, The Big Hash, AKA took a chance to wake-up his rivalry with iFani.

In his verse of Right Now – Reloaded, AKA drop bars, “Do you remember iFani?” This verse and iFani’s disappearance from the mainstream music led to social media users discussing iFani’s alleged failed music career.

iFani is popular for songs such as Ewe, Iingoma Ezimnandi, Shake, Ayadelela, Chocolate & Vanilla to name just a few. 2014 might be the year that saw doors shutting for iFani, after he slammed his former record label Sony, saying he was tired of being treated like a slave by people he makes money for.

iFani, whose the hitmaker of Shake slammed Sony on social media and even considering leaving the music industry.

“Leavin my record label is the ONLY solution. But since they know that will make me happy, they’ll fight it. It’s as if they hate my smile!” he wrote. Could it be the old norm of record labels shutting doors for artists when they decide to part ways with the stable? It’s an old saying in the South African music business that, “When record labels open the doors for you, they have the power to lock you out of those doors again,” we hope it’s not the case with iFani.
