ZuluMecca Enters “Crash Out” Phase of Her Next Album
ZuluMecca is deep in the process of creating her next album, steadily building anticipation with subtle updates and reflections on her journey. Known for blending introspection with razor-sharp lyricism, she’s now working in a space defined by vulnerability and honesty.
She recently described reaching the “crash out” stage of her process:
“Every verse I write makes my heart beat a little too fast…”

That statement captures the intensity of her current work—an album being lived and felt with every bar. This creative strain is familiar territory for ZuluMecca. Her 2022 EP, WEPT: A Succeeding Parable, was a concise, spiritually charged project exploring loss, self-reflection, and rebuilding. The three-track release left a lasting impression for its raw honesty and conceptual precision.
Since then, she’s expanded her sound. Her 2024 EP, Seams., blended introspective lyricism with soul, jazz, and alternative hip-hop influences, while collaborations with artists like Hannah Ray, Mars Baby, and lordkez added new textures without diluting her introspective core. Tracks like “Right Back” and “End of the World” pushed her sonic boundaries while maintaining a focus on self-exploration and transition. Her mid-2024 single, “Change,” continued this evolution, balancing thoughtful lyrics with sharp delivery and reasserting her presence after a quieter period.
The “crash out” phase signals intense focus and emotional investment in the writing process. While details about the album’s sound or themes remain under wraps, her track record suggests a carefully constructed, conceptually rich project.
Fans can expect ZuluMecca to continue building on the thematic and sonic foundations of her previous work. As the album takes shape, anticipation is growing for what promises to be another defining chapter in her artistry.

From Rap Roots to Amapiano Soul — Mphoza Maizy Drops Emotional Debut ‘Wangthembisa’
The South African music scene continues to evolve, producing fresh talent that blends emotion, rhythm, and storytelling — and Mphoza Maizy is one of those voices ready to make his mark.
Born Mpho Titus Mkhabela in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, Mphoza Maizy began his musical journey in 2015 as part of the rap collective Fame Squad, performing under the name Slow Rapper. His early years in hip-hop shaped his lyrical depth and confidence, but his heart eventually led him toward a sound that allowed him to express more than words — Amapiano.
Now signed under Above The Average (PTY) Ltd, Mphoza steps into a new chapter with his debut single “Wangthembisa (You Promised Me)”, featuring Psyphr LXRD and Spiro Beats. Recorded in Mbombela and produced by Clinton Senzo ‘Spiro Beats’ Mbatha, the song is a heartfelt Amapiano masterpiece that explores themes of love, promises, and heartbreak.
“This song is about real emotion,” says Mphoza. “It speaks to anyone who’s ever believed in love that didn’t keep its word. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s my story.”
With smooth vocals, relatable lyrics, and warm, layered production, “Wangthembisa” captures the essence of modern Amapiano — blending soulful storytelling with grooves that resonate beyond the dancefloor. The single not only highlights Mphoza’s natural vocal tone but also showcases the chemistry between him, Psyphr LXRD, and Spiro Beats.
Influenced by artists such as Young Thug and Future, Mphoza Maizy’s sound bridges the gap between introspection and rhythm — combining emotion with movement. His goal is simple: to make music that feels real, connects deeply, and speaks to life’s highs and lows.
With “Wangthembisa (You Promised Me)”, Mphoza Maizy cements his arrival as a new voice in Amapiano — one that carries heart, honesty, and purpose.
