Maftown Heights played an instrumental role shaping my career, Khuli Chana!

One of Africa’s largest music festivals lauded as an instrumental platform in driving the Motswako movement and giving rising acts a platform to grow, Maftown Heights, carries the same ethos of nurturing talent with their inaugural Maftown Heights Creative Community Workshop!

 

The workshop is set to take place on Friday, 6 March 2020 in Mahikeng, North West, at the Mmabatho Palms. With a power line up of speakers and facilitators billed for the workshop, Maftown Heights in partnership with the Khuli Chana Foundation and the North West Department of Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs (CATA), will bring the best of the different ecosystems within the South African music and events industry, to share, empower and network with the North West Creative Community.

A first of its kind in the North West of this magnitude, The Maftown Heights Creative Community Workshop kicks off the 10-year anniversary celebrations for the renowned music festival.

Maftown Heights has played an instrumental role in shaping my career and each year we pay it forward by putting new kids on. This year we want to have a greater impact not only in the lives of up and coming musicians but for the creative community as a whole,” expresses Khuli ChanaMaftown Heights co-founder.

Maftown Heights has played an instrumental role in shining a spotlight on the careers of many artists who have now gone on to become household names. At its core, this is an inclusive platform aimed at showcasing the best and brightest talent from the Motswako genre as well as the many artists across multiple genres that they collaborate with to make amazing and timeless music, shares Refiloe Ramogase, Maftown Heights co-founder.

Refiloe Ramogase adds: “It is thus important for us to launch this new initiative in the hometown that this festival celebrates as being the birthplace of the loudly and proudly South African hip hop sub-genre that is Motswako.”

Khuli Chana gushes over Samthing Soweto’s talent

Khuli Chana is in his feels after witnessing Samthing Soweto’s live performance for the first time.

The rapper expressed his feels using teary emojis and also in awe at Samthing’s talent. Taking to Twitter, Khuli said; “Watching SOMETHING SOWETO for the first time in Polokwane…HIS TALENT; HIS CATALOGUE”

Cassper interviews Khuli Chana ahead of single drop – Watch

Family Tree drops her 2nd edition of podcast and it involves Cassper Nyovest interviewing Khuli Chana.

The first edition was with Nadia Nakai, ahead of her album drop titled, Nadia Naked.

The rappers have been relating as siblings especially due to the single Khuli will be dropping on the 26th of July, Friday, featuring Cassper.

Sitting in front of Cass’ crib, Khuli spoke about his life while on music break- he hung out with some Ghanaian stars, bagged awards and lots more.

Khuli revealed going low was intentional and disclosed other truths in the interview.

The title of the soon to drop single is Ichu.
