SAMA Award-winning R&B star lordkez has teamed up with multi-platinum rapper Cassper Nyovest for the highly anticipated “Aweh Remix” and the internet can’t get enough. In just 10 days, the music video has racked up over 582K views, making it one of the season’s hottest collaborations.
The remix is a celebration of language, culture, and identity. lordkez delivers soulful melodies and poetic depth, weaving in South African colloquial phrases like “Dala What You Must” while debuting isiZulu lyrics in the chorus: “Ngithi ngihamba nawe” (“I’m leaving with you”). Cassper complements her artistry with his signature Setswana flow, referencing love, tradition, and lobola in a heartfelt verse.
Though recorded worlds apart lordkez in Paris and Cassper in South Africa — the song came together seamlessly. “Cassper reached out on TikTok asking to be on the remix. Watching him record live on Twitch while I was in Paris was surreal,” says lordkez.
