It’s been a minute since Nigeria-born, South African-based hip hop act, C.I Jizzlé has given the fans a street banger. With a nod through a feature from Boyz n Bucks affiliated rapper, Stilo Magolide, it seems like we’re about to have a really hot summer.
“Souh Side Baby” is definitely a bop and the rapper describes the song as a form of paying allegiance to the streets of the “True South,” Rosettenville, a neighbourhood that he says embraced him when he came to South Africa. He goes on to state that the “Souh” taught him the key pillars of what it is to be part of a community of hustlers, loyalty and family.
The song is driven by a catchy hook, C.I Jizzlè’s dominant persona through a deep husky performance, Stilo Magolide’s swag for a feature and a monster of a beat by “KnifeBeatz” that ties it all together to give the listener an epic listening experience. The music video showcases the community of Rosettenville through a very well composed and diverse motion picture depicting street culture, unity and genuine support that they have for each other as young hustlers of the “Souh.”
C.I Jizzlé’s upcoming EP titled “Fear Of God” is currently in the works and he promises to deliver a wholesome project that he believes will not only cement his presence in the hip hop scene, but also open more doors to the opportunity of collaborating and growing his brand around Africa.
