South African rapper, songwriter & producer, Money Man, recently had major reasons to celebrate after it was revealed that his music had been chosen for the #NBA2K21 soundtrack by UnitedMasters. To give you context, NBA® 2K21 and UnitedMasters had been running their second international talent search competition called “2K Beats: The Search” that would grant selected artist winners a chance to feature on the industry-leading soundtrack. Money Man, who began his hip hop journey at a young age but only released his first single titled ‘Cashflowngcobo’ back in November of 2019, was amongst the chosen which is a huge deal when you consider that he is the first South African artist we’ve heard of to have been selected as a winner for this.
His second single called ‘MON€¥’ which was released on 1 February 2020 is the one that got recognition from UnitedMadters and the 2K team after he submitted it and it got selected for the NBA2K21 “The City” Next Gen game early 2021 which was the competition was all about. It’s also interesting to know that Money Man has recorded 2 mixtapes on his phone titled Hit Songs From My iPhone which were all recorded, edited and released on the mobile device.
