Paradise Africa’s “Drop The Music” Master Class Kicks Off a Series of Inspiring Events at AMPD Studios in Newtown, Johannesburg

Paradise Africa, in collaboration with AMPD Studios brought to you by MTN, is proud to announce the successful launch of its event series with the first Master Class, “Drop the Music.” This event brought together South African creative pioneers and creatives to reignite the fire within the  music and creative community, with a focus on release strategies, social media branding, and mental health. With over 120 attendees, this master class was a resounding success and marked the beginning of a transformative journey for emerging artists and creatives.

“Drop the Music” Master Class featured a dynamic lineup of speakers who shared their wealth of knowledge in their respective fields, from social media management all the way to distribution, label management, and musicianship. Wearing many hats, the speakers created an engaging platform to unpack the different elements of navigating, releasing music, and dealing with visibility in the age of social media.

The collaboration with MTN AMPD Studios underscores our shared commitment to empower artists with the knowledge and tools they need to grow their brands and businesses.

Introducing the Masterclass Speakers:

Martha Mangwani:  As a respected label manager and DJ, Martha Mangwani brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the masterclass. Her expertise in music management and performance is sure to offer invaluable guidance to aspiring artists and industry enthusiasts. With her background and international training as a label manager, she has the ability to advise clients and artists to win; moreover, Martha, who doubles as a DJ, continues to showcase her passion for music by leveraging her ability to network as well as perform her heart out.

Namakau Star:  Multi-talented artist, musician, and captivating speaker, Namakau Star, is set to captivate audiences with her unique perspective on creativity and the music industry. Her journey is a testament to the power of artistic vision and determination. With an impressive catalog under her belt that has received support both internationally and locally, she has also taken her skill and passion for music on stages across Germany, as well as Eswatini and South Africa, taking on Badehaus Swag Jam, Baseline Fest, and MTN Bushfire. She recently collaborated with international German pop band The Planetoids on her Sophomore EP, Life on Pluto. With the lead single Boomerang charting at number 1 on 5FM nights.

 Sir Lsg:  Heading the renowned “Bread for Soul,” Sir Lsg brings a wealth of expertise in the music industry. His contributions have reverberated across genres, and his involvement is poised to empower the next generation of music creators. With his passion for music, Sir LSG has managed to amass a substantial following online as well as create spaces and communities for music lovers to come together

 Reggie Rasodi: who leads communications for the Africa Rising Music Conference, is a force in entertainment and social media, lending his perspective and queer creativity. He uses his platform to educate and advocate for diversity and inclusion. He  is a noteworthy creative in the South African entertainment industry for his diverse interests, from film right through to social media.

The Master Class welcomed over 120 attendees, comprising emerging artists, creatives, and music enthusiasts eager to enhance their knowledge and skills. The engaged audience made the event a truly exciting and interactive experience. This marks a significant moment for AMPD Studios as it celebrates its re-opening. 

Paradise Africa and AMPD Studios look forward to continuing their collaborative efforts to support and nurture the creative talents of Johannesburg. The series of events is set to provide a platform for aspiring artists and creatives to grow and thrive in the vibrant creative landscape of Newtown.
