MTV Base’s Hottest MC’s is returning for another annual special. Each year, MTV Base rates the hottest hitmakers in the rap game from number 10 to number 1. The host serves as a mediator for the panel of six hip-hop industry judges whose criteria for the Hottest MCs list includes the MC’s impact, bars and lyrics, sales, buzz, and x-factor.
The excitement of choosing of this year’s Hottest MCs appeared to have dissolved like lava in the mouths of A-Reece fans, and they are not having it, believing their hero is being disrespected. But how did it come to this?
The Hottest MCs this year will be selected by a panel that includes Kyeezi, French Fry, Uncle Partytime, Misa Narrates, Marz Ambrosio, and Fif Laaa.
The panel discussed a lot, including the choice of Cassper Nyovest (at no. 10) on the list. One of the judges, Metro FM’s DJ Kyeezi, noted that Cassper Nyovest should not have been on the list of Hottest MCs this year because he didn’t release music worthy of the tag.
However, the most controversy appeared to have been generated by the inclusion of A-Reece at no. 6 on the list. His fans were outraged by him being so “bottom” on the list, and some of them insist it’s nothing short of an insult to the “Paradise” hitmaker. You can check out some of the comments below.

To his credit, A-Treece actually hasn’t done badly this year. But then, it isn’t the place of his fans to make him the top dawg in South African rap this year.
