The highly energetic, trippy and bass-heavy beat was produced, mixed and mastered by Louie Van Wolf and The Meister. The song features their friend ‘CeeFuu’ (Sbusiso Khanyile), a seasoned singer/songwriter. The 3 musicians are based in the small town of Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal.

Although the 3 musicians are new to the national music scene they have been dabbling in music for a quite a while as evidenced by a combined +/- 5,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Meister and Louie Van Wolf are self-taught record producers who released their debut EP album titled ‘Mended Dreams’ in July 2021. The album was well-received and reviewed in a number of local newspapers. The release of ‘Ngifuna Wena’ follows the success of ‘Manic Pixie Dream’, a song from The Meister and Louie Van Wolf’s debut EP album. Nine (9) months after its release, ‘Manic Pixie Dream’ still regularly peaks at number 1 on the official Spotify ‘SAlt’ playlist.

‘Ngifuna Wena’ is a declaration of love to one’s significant other and also a celebration of love. Lyrics were composed entirely by CeeFuu drawing from his personal experience with relationships. “Coming from previous bad experiences with women, I found someone who taught me how to love, be patient and be kind to myself. She taught me how to love her,” declared CeeFuu. “In this song I express my gratitude and appreciation for her and the never-failing love that I still receive to this day,” commented CeeFuu. He penned the lyrics in the studio upon first listen of the beat and managed to complete the lyrics within one hour, thirty minutes before recording demo vocals with the help of the 2 producers. During the recording of the final-cut vocals, CeeFuu heavily relied on his demo recording to remember the lyrics.

With the release of ‘Ngifuna Wena’, The Meister and Louie Van Wolf are building on their underground success and turning it into national success. Their vision is to create music that incorporates elements from the South African music scene with elements from the international music scene. The two producers feel ready to join the pantheon of national pop artists and have lined up hit-singles ahead of their upcoming sophomore EP album.
