DBN Gogo has begun the year on a high. The GLAMOUR cover star kicked off the year with the launch of her independent record label, Zikode Records, in collaboration with UMG Africa. She shot her anticipated return to the Major League DJz’ Amapiano Balcony Mix, and released the visuals to her breakout single, Khuza Gogo; a visual tribute to the late Mpura on Youtube.
Now the Possible hitmaker formally introduces Zikode Records with the first single released under her label, Bambelela, featuring Amapiano’s leading young crop Pabi Cooper, Felo Le Tee and Young Stunna. Bambelela is already a viral and street bop fully accompanied by its signature dance move.
Detailing how the mid-tempo, contemporary amapiano summer track came to be, the Awoa hitmaker explains that Bambelela, was originally meant to be female anthem, featuring only Pabi Cooper. However, Dipatje hitmaker Felo wanted to be part of the song, with the addition of Young Stunna.
The result is a laid back, but bass heavy single blending the signatures of the collaborators. Resulting in “battle of the fans,” whether Yasho is the hook, or is Bambelela the catch? Fans will now decide as Bambela becomes widely available,
