Recording artist Daddy Longstem and Dj, producer and radio personality Dj Zan D come together to deliver a 9 track LP titled ‘Black Privilege’ Following a 3 year hiatus from the game, Daddy Longstem returns to address the state of the culture on ‘Black Privilege’. The project features hard hitting, dusty 90’s boom bap style beats as well as some modern sounding club friendly records. Teaming up with veteran Dj Zan D on this project, Longstem delivers creatively written songs filled with witty double entendres, hard hitting bars and meaningful messages. Longstem opens the project with the proud statement “I’M THE ENERGY THE CULTURE NEEDS!” And this braggadocio and bravado is carried excellently throughout each song on the project. Black Privilege is a celebration of the black man and woman. The project features fellow recording artists Marley BloO, who delivers well written hooks on the project as well as some definite club bangers, Thomas Hazey, BlackAce and passionfruitdilla. Dj Zan D and Daddy Longstem hope to awaken the spirit of lyrical hip hop on this project coupled with high quality production. Production credits on the album include Dj Zan D, Xplosive Dj, The Kid Next Door, Riz Ventura, Rapid, Uncle Scroogy, Xavier Soft, Marley BloO as well as Daddy Longstem and Marley BloO as ‘The Us’ The release date for the project is 27 April (Freedom Day) and ‘Black Privilege’ is available for pre-order on iTunes & Spotify and the first single titled “Rise” featuring Marley BloO & Thomas Hazey is now available for free download on Daddy Longstem’s SoundCloud & Audiomack. https://soundcloud.com/daddylongstem/dj-zan-d-daddy-longstem-rise-feat-marley-bloo-thomas-hazey |
